Alot of work was needed to gather all the costumed that was to be used in the movie. First, all the costume storages available in Hollywood was searched through. Beside the old costrumes, there was a lot of production of clothes. Some origional dresses was even bougth. Costume designer David LeVey was able to get a dress only worn once by a woman. "The woman had spilled sauce all over the front and had not worn it since. When we got it, we were able to restore it and then use it. The costume was an origional from early 1900 and worked perfectly for this set." The costume department consisred of 100 person where Paule Drissi worked with overlooking do that the costumes fitted with the fashion of 1912. She also had the responsbility of sewing pearls on costumes. "It was a great pivilidge of working with this film when alot of theese costume I´ve only seen of picture, but now I got the pleasure of sewing and seeing them in real life" Responsible for the entire costume department was Deborah Scott. "The hardest thing was the colors, since all the pictures was black and white. We just had to do research and ask older persons about the colors." The thing they knew was that wealthy people at this spend more money on clothes than ever before. Nothing was left to ramdom at the shooting. All women, even thoose in the background, wore a corset and everyone was very careful overlooking so that all wore typical costumes for that age. And this was not only for costume, but props and decor as well.
