An Invitation to Rose by Alison

Dear Rose,

It's been over 84 years since I've last seen you and I remember your beautiful image vividly. It was the last thing I've seen before I died. You were humming "Come Josephine in my Flying Machine" and your hand was frozen to mine. I smiled just before I died remembering the fantastic moment we shared at the bow of the ship of dreams. It really was the ship of dreams wasn't it Rose?

And winning that ticket was surely the most wonderful thing that happened to me. I met you because of that ticket. And it doesn't matter that I died on the "Titanic". I lived my last few days happily in your company and in your arms... Remember that day in the gym when I tried to convince you that Cal and your mother were trapping you and you told me that you loved him? I knew that it wasn't true. I've seen it in your eyes. Your beautiful green eyes. I was dying to kiss you that day. And when you told me later that "You changed your mind", I was so happy, that was the best moment of my life…

I thought to myself while I was drawing you and making love to you in the car that I was lucky that I met you. (That's why I was trembling at that time). Then the iceberg happened and I vowed to myself that I'll make sure you'll be saved no matter what. I cried so much when you jumped out of the lifeboat (your safe place) to be with me. And then afterwards Cal was chasing us with his gun. He was mad with rage when he saw you in my arms. I wanted to kill him for slapping you some time before.

Our love was so great Rose. I fell in love with you, the first moment I saw you. And now after all these years, I know that our love will always go on….

After 84 years you surely fulfilled your promise to me. You never let go, Rose Dawson and now that you're an old lady in your warm bed, I'll invite you once more to meet me at the clock with all our Titanic friends. Wanna go to a real party??

XXXXX Love Jack
