300: Rise of an Empire was originally one of our most-anticipated movies of the year … that is, until Warner Bros. decided to push the release date back from Aug. 2 to Mar. 7, 2014. But while we await the coming bloodshed, the studio has dropped a new poster in anticipation of its upcoming panel at Comic-Con 2013.
Directed by Noam Murro and starring the likes of Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham and Rodrigo Santoro, 300: Rise of an Empire is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel ‘Xerxes.’ From the officially released plot synopsis:
This new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield — on the sea — as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. ’300: Rise of an Empire’ pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
The 300: Rise of an Empire Comic-Con panel will be held in the buzzing Hall H on Saturday, July 20th, along with other Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures properties ‘Seventh Son,’ ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Gravity’ and ‘The LEGO Movie.’ (Source)
