This is a section I have created for spoilers of ER season 10, which airs Thursday, September 25th. I have copied and pasted the spoilers from here.

10.02: The Lost

Carter heads back to Africa upon receiving word that Luka has been "murdered" there. With Gillian (the Canadian nurse from Kisangani), he desperately seeks to find Luka's body to bring back home.

Meanwhile, Luka is alive (barely), watching those with him get shot one by one. They have spared him because they believed he was a priest as he was chanting and feverishly praying, delusional from the malaria. A crucifix that was given to him earlier, hung from his neck. A boy who witnessed Luka's delirious praying, later leads Carter to him.

Luka is delirious from the malaria. Other prisoners are being assaulted and shot. You can hear the gunshots, but Luka is out of it. In his stupor, he hears music. A piece by Barber, Angus Dei. Luka moves and manages to get up on his knees. He shuts his eyes, and turns his face upward and attempts to remember the words. He begins to pray. More shots are heard. He keeps saying the prayer he memorized long ago and he says them in the language he learned it in. Tears begin to slid down his face.

OK, just wanted to add that Luka is pretty out of it during this scene. He's delirius, hearing distant voices of people and when he goes to look for those people, there isn't anyone there. Luka looks at around and the soldiers near him don't seem to hear anything. That's when he begins to hear music and begins to pray. A boy says to the soldiers that Luka is a priest. Luka continues. The soldiers ask Luka if he is a priest, but he is out of it, delirious and praying, lost in his reverie. He doesn't hear them. That is when the mother jumps up and says yes, Luka is a priest and that they cannot kill a man of God. All the boys gather around Luka, asking to be blessed. They kneel next to him and throughout it all, Luka continues to pray, still in a trance. The man who has been directing the assualts and murders kneels down next to him, and finally his assistant does as well. Luka continues to pray in his trance, with the soldiers kneeling around him.

The teaser opens with Carter on a plane. A man is sitting next to Carter. He asks Carter if he is sober. Carter says Sorry? The man says that Carter looks sober and that he makes it a rule to always land in Kinshasa drunk. He says he's on his fourth drink. Cater smiles thinly at the man. The man introduces himself and he and Carter exchange names. The man tries to guess what company Carter works for. He keeps guessing wrong. Finally the man gives up and Carter tells him that he isn't there for work. That he is there for a personal matter. The man says there isn't much competition for seats. Says he guesses the See A Brutal Genocide tour package isn't a big seller. Carter asks the drinking man why he is going to the Congo. The man tells him that he works at the Embassy, furthering business interests abroad. The man gets another drink and then asks Carter Personal matter, huh? Woman? Carter says no. The man asks two women? Carter smiles because the man is relentless and says no. The man persists Three women? Carter tells him A friend of mine was murdered. I'm on my way to take him home. The man shuts up.

Later, at the airport after the plane has landed we see the passengers make their way toward immigration. Soldiers are everywhere. Carter gets into line. The man tells Carter that if he needs to see a familiar face while he is there that he can call him. Cartet thanks him. Later, after dealing with the immigration officer, Carter goes outside into a crowd of people. It's chaotic and he looks at their faces. Gillian calls out to him John! She waves at him. Charles is with her. When Carter reaches her, she takes him in her arms, holds him tightly for a long moment. When she lets go, she wipes off stray tears. Carter and Charles greet each other and Gillian asks if Carter is hungry. They go to an outdoor cafe where she tells Carter they haven't heard anything in three days. And there has been fighting around the clinic for weeks.

Here is the prayer that Luka recites, (The Lord's Prayer in Croatian)
Oce nas, koji jesi na nebesima
    sveti se ime tvoje
    dodi kraljevstovo tvoje,
    budi volja tvoja....

Kako na nebu tako i na zemlji.
Kruh nas svagdanji daj nam danas

    I otpusti nam duge nase
kado i mi otpustamo deznicima nasim

I ne uvedi nas u napast,
    nego izbavi nas od zia.

OK, the next scene that I have seems to take place at an international red cross office. Carter and Gillian are waiting in a very crowded hallway. Carter asks her when she ate last and she doesn't answer. Carter persists and says he could get her something. She says A gun to shoot myself? and very much wants him to be quiet although she doesn't say it. Then Carter asks who they are waiting for. Gillian tells him they are waiting for Andre. A man appears in a doorway and says Gillian’s name. He and Gillian greet each other and she tells him who Carter is. They follow the him to his office where Andre expresses his condolences. Carter asks him if he could tell them more about the circumstances of Luka’s death. Andre tells Carter they don’t know. That after much effort, they had negotiated passage into Mai Mai held territory to evacuate the wounded. Included in the deal was a list of the dead. Luka’s name was on that list.

Carter asks if no one actually saw a body to confirm his death. Andre tells him no but the Mai Mai had provided personal items to help out with the identification. He gets an ID badge out for Carter. It’s Luka’s. It has his name, his photo and there is dried blood on it. Carter asks if they know where Luka is buried or if he’s even buried at all. Andre tells him no. Carter asks if they can get the body, if there is any way to arrange that? Andre tells him that after the fighting stops, they’ll make every effort to identify the remains. Carter asks how long that will take. Andre doesn’t know. Carter wants an estimate. Days? Weeks? Months? Andre apologizes. Says someone on the negotiating team may know more because they were actually there. Carter wants to speak to them and is told They are in Kisangani. They exchange the names of some team members. Gillian thanks him and they leave.

The next complete scene I have is brief. It takes place at the clinic. There are only three patients left. Luka goes to them, smiling at the father of one patient and then going to a girl and her mother. In French, Luka asks the woman if she knows how lucky she is to have such a beautiful daughter. Both mother and daughter smile back at him.

Remember these two; the woman and her daughter. They’re going to have a very rough time of it. And it’s the mother who tells the soldiers that Luka is a man of God,leading to a religious experience for all the killers, after which the killing stops and Luka, the mother and the little girl live through the hellish ordeal.

10.05: Out of Africa

    From EpneBelle:

It's Luka's first day back to work. He does suprisingly well and finds that he feels pretty good about being back.

A distraught mother sets herself on fire in front of her young son and several horrified staff members.

From MrsVIW at TWoP (only c/p'd the Luka parts):

It's Halloween. The usual crazies are in evidence in the ER.

The lounge is in a different location.

Teaser: Luka's on the El train looking around, "the return of the native (sort of)". He reads a few silly ads posted on the train and smiles. Next, Luka is in the ambulance bay and takes a look at the 3 new characters (Coop, Neela and the 2nd year resident). He has no idea who they are. Luka offers to help them, but they say they're OK. They don't know who he is either.

Luka passes Chuny and they say a few words to each other. Luka's unsure if things (eg Security) work the way they did before. He then walks up to Frank, who doesn't even say hi. He just tells Luka to call Kerry. Luka says, "Nice to see you too, Frank". Frank returns the sentiment (I'm guessing sarcastically) and says, again, to call Kerry. The 2nd year resident introduces himself to Luka, but it doesn't look like Luka really cares.

A woman with 2 kids (one of them in a Harry Potter costume) comes into the ER – her youngest, a baby, fell out of a shopping cart. Kovac asks if the baby hit his head. He did, and was quiet after that, which doesn't sound like a good thing. They pass Frank, who asks Luka what he should tell Kerry.

Weaver talks to Luka about setting some guidelines for him, if (or since) he's back on the job. She wants him to work 36 hours a week. Guaranteed.

A few pages later, the Mom's telling Susan how the accident happened. The Mom's acting a little funny, and tells Susan that she's on Zoloft because she's currently going through a divorce and is a bit down. Her husband's trying to gain custody of the kids. Susan is sympathetic, then asks her if she's been drinking. She says she hasn't, but Susan can smell it on her breath. Susan tells her she's only trying to help. As the Mom considers this, another patient is wheeled in and Susan tells the paramedics she'll be there in a second. She turns her attention back to the Mom, who states that she isn't drunk. Susan asks her to take a blood alcohol test. She doesn't answer, but asks if she can be forced to take that test, and then says she's sorry and made a mistake. Susan tells her she'll see her when she has news about her injured baby. Her other son, who acts like the adult in the family, enters and gives her some water to drink A few more pages later, and we find out that the baby has a skull fracture, but no bleeding, which is good. Luka and Susan argue about whether Susan should call Social Services (Susan wants to, Luka doesn't). Then Susan goes to tell the Mom about her baby's current condition. Susan also tells her that she's called Social Services. Even more pages later, it seems Social Services is talking to the Mom, saying that her case could be resolved in 6 months – it seems that they're going to take her kids from her. The Mom gives an inappropriate response about meeting her lawyer that morning and having an alcoholic drink. Later, the father shows up, and is angry. He tells her that she can screw up her own life, but not the kids.

Luka later apologizes to Susan for his behavior while treating the baby, saying that he's used to working alone – that's the way he worked in the Congo. Susan's not offended and says there are different ways of practicing medicine.

This happens somewhere in Act II. The Mom is wandering around the hospital in a daze. She exists the hospital, passing Susan and Luka. She says she left something in her car. She goes to the car where there's a bag of groceries, and reaches for the lighter fluid. She gets in the car, pours the lighter fluid everywhere, and just as she ignites, the son comes out and sees this. Susan's shocked. The camera switches to the Mom's POV – she can see her older son screaming her name, Susan holding him back. Luka runs to the car. Coop (who was walking outside with the other Resident, complaining about working in the ER) helps Luka. Paula, on fire, is pulled out of the car. The Resident's in shock at what he's seeing; Coop gets burned on the forehead.. Susan's shocked but pulls herself together and helps. After the Mom's been taken care of in the ER, Luka volunteers to tell the husband, but Susan says she's fine and will handle it. There's a small debate about whether the older son should see his Mom, and Luka's trying to make Susan feel better about her decision to call in Social Services on the Mom. Susan talks to the husband and the older son, but the son doesn't want to see his Mom, who wants to say goodbye to him. The father doesn't want to force him to do something he doesn't want to do.

Luka, Romano, Abby, Coop and Sam are working on a patient. Romano shoves a foley bag at Abby and rudely asks her to get the specimen he needs.

Sam's son, Toby, is in the lounge, appearing to be doing his homework. Sam asks him about something she sees in his backpack and makes him dump it out. She's looking for a severed finger that belong to one of the patients, but he says he didn't take it. He has some gauze and syringes in his bag, and his mother tells him not to steal because she brings this stuff home for him (and suture kits) when he asks. Sounds like he wants to practice medicine at some point. She also says that if she finds out that he's lying about taking the severed finger, she's going to use one of his instead. Later, Luka unnecessarily puts a cast on Toby's arm – it might be because he's being picked on by a bully at school and this will get the bully off his back for awhile. Toby asks Luka about his returning to Africa. Luka confirms that he is going back, but isn't sure for how long. Luka tells Toby he's needed over there and that working there makes him happy. Toby asks Luka if he's ever seen a lion or hyena in Africa. Luka says no, and Toby says that Africa sounds like it sucks.

Luka has Gallant, Neela and Coop work triage; he wants to provide better care and service to the patients. Luka's also going to work with them. Neela's half listening – she's staring sadly at the Mom who's on a vent. Luka tells everyone in the Waiting Room to form a line and they'll be seen 3 at a time. Romano later asks Luka what they're doing, and Luka tells him.

Luka's looking around the ER, noticing how different everything looks to him since his stint in Africa. He's treating patients a little like he did in Africa – examining and diagnosing patients without using extensive tests.

At the end of the episode, Romano finds the Waiting Room emptying out and is happy. Luka's happy as well – "he's back, and it feels alright".

    From me:

When Luka arrives, everything feels different. New furniture. Security is different. Protocol is different (he thinks, at least). He has to ask where the lounge is.

Kerry is just as crabby toward him as before, or it sounds that way.

Luka seems certain he will be leaving to go to Africa, where he tells the boy Toby that he can help more people. At first Romano doesn't like the line he sees (which Luka formed using Gallant, Neela and Coop at three "stations") but when he makes a wisecrack about it, asking what they are doing, Luka says "Clearing triage." Romano not only sees that the waiting room is empty, but responds with "Excellent." Something positive from Romano at the end of a very productive day. Luka then looks down the line of people - now only a dozen - and this is when he feels "he's back" and it feels alright.

General season 10 spoilers

From freddiejack: What's going to happen with Luka? He isn't really going to die, right? Right?!
As of the first episode...yes. Neela takes a call about the death of a Croation doctor, whom we find out is Luka. Carter goes back to "The Congo" (really, Hawaii--they shot this ep last month) to retrieve his body. But don't count my boy Luka out just yet--you know I'd be in a perpetual state of mourning if he really were six feet under. Still, Luka will be very different if and when we ever see him again.
