BIOGRAPHY

Born Diane Heidkrueger on July 15 1976 in Hildesheim, Germany began her career with dreams of being a ballet dancer. She was well on her way studying with the Royal Ballet in London before an injury ended her career.

She moved into modeling and quickly became on of Paris' top models while studying at Ecole Florent. While studying there she won the Classe Libre award for best actor in her year.

It was in The Piano Player (aka The Target) that Diane made her feature film debut opposite Dennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert. Other roles followed including the French film Mon Idol for which she landed a Caesar nomination. While she didn't pick up the award she was recognized in 2003 at Cannes with the Chopard Trophy of the Revelation as Best Newcomer.

More recently she has been busy appearing opposite Brad Pitt in Troy, Josh Hartnett in Wicker Park and Nicolas Cage in National Treasure.

She married French actor Guillaume Canet back in 2001.
